The short answer
Professionally installed gutter guards on existing gutters run from $10.88 to $20.00 per foot in Greater St. Louis, based on the jobs we install. On a typical home with about 160 feet of gutter, that is roughly $1,741–$3,200. Your exact price comes from a free on-site measure.
What changes the price
The biggest factor is how many feet of gutter your home has. After that: how tall the house is (two- and three-story homes take more ladder and safety time), how many inside and outside corners there are, the type of guard you choose, and whether your gutters need re-pitching or new hangers first.
If your gutters are old, leaking or sagging, putting guards on them rarely makes sense. Replacing the gutters and adding guards at the same time usually costs less overall than doing them separately.
How to compare quotes fairly
Ask every company for the price per foot and the total feet they measured. That turns very different-looking quotes into numbers you can compare.
Ask what the guard is made of, how it attaches (under the shingles or to the front of the gutter), and what the warranty actually covers: the material, clogging, or both, and whether it transfers if you sell.
Be careful with same-day pricing. A discount that disappears if you don't sign tonight is a sales tactic, not a reason to decide.
Is it worth it?
If you clean your gutters twice a year or more, live under oaks, maples or pines, or don't want to be on a ladder, guards usually pay for themselves in avoided cleanings and avoided water damage within a few years.
